This maritime terminal consists of 4 specialized terminals for each type of cargo: Containers, Bulk, Liquids and General Cargo.  

BUENAVENTURA PORT'S INFORMATION

Time Zone: GMT – 5 hours
Current Draft: 29 FEET F.W. In the river mouth and the navigational channel (it can change suddenly due to constant river waterflow changes)
Windy Season: From early december to mid april; prevailing northeasterly winds.

Current Draft At Pier 14 (Liquid Bulk Terminal) 

Depth alongside: 7.50 mtrs in low tide (NAABSA clause to be inserted when applicable)
The seabed is soft mud.

Max. Loa Pier 14 (Liquid Bulk Terminal) 

186 meters. Any vessel with loa above 186 meters should be approved by pilots/harbor master prior fixture.

Pilot Assistance 

It is compulsory for all domestic/foreign flag vessels over 500 GRT, for entering/departing , as well as shifting between berths.

Pilot boarding takes place only at fairway buoy 03° 47' 39,1'' N 77°19' 08,4'' W . Arrange a pilot ladder 1 meter above water level on portside. Distance from Pilot Station to the Port is 16 nautical miles.

Tug Assistance 

It is compulsory for all vessels over 2,000 mt dwt. For vessels over 150 meters LOA, pilot may request a second tug. There are 4 tugs available.

Private Terminal 

Muelle 13: multipurpose 525 m lenght depth alongside 7.50 mtrs (low tide).

Facilities 

Multipurpose terminal with 14 berths total length 2.001 m, facilities for
handling grains by mechanical and pneumatic systems (300 mt/hr).
Grains: 67 silos total capacity 98.300 MT.
Meals and Fertilizers: 4 warehouses total capacity 44.000 MT.
The pier 9 is specialized to load raw sugar in bulk (four conveyor belts) and molasses.
Berth 14: liquid bulk terminal depth alongside 7.50 mtrs (low tide).

One multipurpose mobile crane (Gottwald) with 100 mt capacity
Two gantry cranes with following characteristics:

Normal load swl under the spreader: 40.6 mt
Normal load swl underneath the beam with hook : 50.8 mt
telescopic spreader for 20´/ 35´/ 40´/ 45´ / 48´
lifting height over the rail: 33 mtrs.

Lifting height below the rail: 15.5 mtrs.
Maximum outreach on seaside: 45 mtrs
Maximum outreach on shore side: 15.2 mtrs.
